Members shared their strategies for getting themselves to work despite exhaustion and widespread pain, with common approaches including taking pain relievers like Tylenol or Aleve, using muscle rubs or lidocaine patches, and not overthinking the morning routine to avoid talking themselves out of going. Several members emphasized the mental shift required to push through, including listening to music at work, practicing mindfulness or meditation, staying busy to distract from pain, and focusing on the positive reasons for working such as income, social connection, and a sense of purpose. A recurring theme was the importance of self-compassion and finding small joys, whether through gratitude practices, community activities, or simply acknowledging that some days the pain wins and that's okay.

I am stuck in a morning routine I don't even think about it. Just get up and get out. I think if I stopped and thought about it for a second I wouldn't go. I know I have to do it so I just basically do it.

Make your work environment as inviting as possible. I wore headphones and listen to great music from Pandora on my computer. Your favorite colors around you and lighting that works. It has got to be a place you want to be at.

Truth because I work part-time flexible I go back to sleep. I know I can't risk the walk or fall asleep at work.

If it's bearable, I work in quiet lock my office door and plead to the good Lord to have a gentle answer. When in that state I also do mindfulness to take my thoughts away
