Members shared mixed experiences with capsaicin (Zacin) cream for pain relief, with the overwhelming majority reporting intense burning sensations, skin irritation, blisters, and even first-degree burns that made the treatment unbearable despite its potential benefits. Several members offered alternative solutions they found more tolerable, including Voltaren gel, lidocaine patches, TENS units, PERNATON green-lipped mussel gel, and hot baths, with many emphasizing the importance of wearing gloves during application and avoiding heat or overnight use if trying capsaicin. A recurring theme was frustration with the healthcare system, including doctors prescribing treatments likely to irritate sensitive skin, inadequate pain management support, and the ongoing search for effective fibromyalgia relief that doesn't cause more harm than good.

It burns my skin. I do get some relief from Lidoderm patches but without insurance they are expensive. Also, you can not have more than three on at a time and that doesn't cover a lot of area. I usually cut them up and put them at various points on my body that hurt the worst at the time. When you put them on they are really cold and you can't apply heat (warning on the label) and it's something that isn't instant so you when you put them on you don't realize they're helping until later on when the pain is eased.

I've tried it OTC in Lokata Arthritis cream ( not sure of percent) but I did not find it very effective. I wasn't aware that it came in prescription strength. I get relief with voltaren emu gel and you can get higher strength with prescription ( mixed compound) :)

I use PERNATON gel. It's a green lipped muscle extract gel from hollandaise and Barratt here in England. A health store. It really helped with my restless and sore legs and my lower back. It smells strong when first applied but once it's been on the skin a minute you can't smell it. It's cold then warms up. Never tried the one you mentioned though have heard of it. I hope it gives you some relief. X

I have tried the icyhot, bengay, and all of those, before i was diagnosed and they did little for me except for breaking out in a rash and a hell of a burn.. Hot baths work the best for me!
