Injections
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've seen several people mention that they get injections in their joints or tender points. I'm just curious to hear if they help (or hurt) and where you get the injection (back, knee, etc).

Trigger point injections are lidocaine injections directly in to those tender points. The PA I work for injects the trigger points along my shoulders, in my mid back and sometimes lower back . The first day I feel good but the second is always worse as they release. By day 3 and 4 I feel a lot better.

I usually get about 25 - 30 injections in my back & neck every week. I do find it helps. My relief can vary from 70 - 90 %.

I got them one time. The injection was very painful and I didn't get any relief. That Dr said my shoulder muscles were very stiff/ hard to get through.

I have developed what they call trigger finger on both hands, and also had injections on both thumbs three times now. Sorry to tell you yes VERY painfull, even with a local numbing agent, and the ortho said that sometimes the shot lasts a lifetime, other times about 3/6 months. After the third, she said there was no other option but to have surgery. My heart goes out to you, There is an equine ankle ointment that helps with arthritic pain, you can get it online, the only thing is that its greasy and the smell not, well.... good.
