Brain Fog
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

At the moment I am following a study as I am not able to function in my old profession anymore and want to change careers. I didn't count on the fibro fog being so bad though and it is really interfering with my ability to read and think.
It is like I have a cognitive impairment and makes me very frustrated. I know it is common for people with fibro but was wondering how other people deal with this either at work or studying?
Are there any supplements or vitamins that help?

I lost my job, because of mental fog, that is in the FM package, B12 supplement really helps with this. I know its quite scary to think that your mind is running from you, but there is help. Take care.

I take DHA that supposed to improve memory. My brain fog has improved since I stopped the cymbalta and lyrica and celexa and Vicodin. I take meloxicam if I'm hurting too too much.

Have you tried Ginko Baloba? It's a supplement that helps improve memory. I personally use a notepad to write down things to help me remember thing. I also have a pocket calendar to remember important appointments and dates, and I keep it in my purse. Mango Health is an app I use on my phone to remind me when to take my multiple medications. It keeps track of the medications you take and the dosages and the times you take those medications.

I'm retired so I can't offer much help. My only thought would be to see a career counselor. Maybe they could offer some suggestions. I'm sure others will offer some more suggestions to help you.
