Not me! Morphine, morphine, morphine. I went to a new doctor crying after my old doc would refuse to give me anything more than Tramadol for my pain. He gave me Vicodin right away. When my dosage needed upped and upped pretty frequently, he eventually put me on the Fentanyl patch (morphine delivered in vivo 24/7) typcially given to cancer patients - which saved my life! I've been on it for nearly 6 years now, and have switched from Vicodin to Percoset for breakthrough pain. It just depends on how good your doctor is, and if he has an understanding of Fibro. Mine is young, he was well taught, and he trusts me. And I trust him. He saved my life - and my job (for a few years anyway). I eventually lost my job..... but I wouldn't say that it takes YEARS before any Dr. will even think about putting you on a narcotic. Take your records with you. Keep searching for that good Doctor!!!!! I'm thankful for mine every single day!!!!!! I am not addicted. I don't even see how I could get addicted. I've actually gone DOWN a dose since being on it..... If it works for me, it could work for someone else. What's the harm in trying if it's going to provide SO much relief as it has for me? I hate it when people down the use of morphine. What works for you may not work for another. Just because the risk of addiction is high, or your "family" is afraid you'll get addicted, is no reason not to try it. It has truly been a lifesavor for me. Living in pain, is not living.

Don't know why "they" say narcotics don't work for Fibro cause they WORK for me!!! I never knew Norco was ONLY Vicodin!!!!! Sheesh. I'm not missing out then. I thought it was some big-time drug, the way people talk about it. Tramadol was like taking Advil to me.. never worked. I can't BELIEVE they classify it as a narcotic! Saying morphine doesn't work is BULL! It may not work for some, but don't generalize for others.

Love that saying living in pain is not living

They gave me morphine in the emergency room and it did nothing for my pain! Only when they gave me 2 percocets did I find relief. Soft hugs.

Sorry I should have said you apply it to the areas that give you most pain and massage it in well.
