I always feel trapped in my body on a really bad day when I'm stuck in bed. I started crochet and find it helpful to keep my mind of it but I'm curious what other people do.

I so relate to your message. I feel some days the walls are closing in on me. The last thing I want is more time home or in bed. The emotional accpects of fybro really get me down. Im still learning how to deal with bad days or weeks. Here recently I have just been honest with my family. I was shocked how supportive my husband was. He has even noticed without a word. He says lets get out of the house, he even will push me in a wheel chair if really bad. I also have 6 children and have felt guilty for them taking on more responsibility. I always wanted them to focus on school and i would do the rest. Then I got sick and learned it wasnt going away. In tears I explained to them. They help me so much and no complaints. That alone makes me feel better๐Ÿ˜

I usually spend the day reading on my tablet. I have a stand that I bought through Amazon to hold it so I don't have the weight in my hands, I just slide my finger across the screen to turn pages. I stay hydrated by drinking decaf sweet iced tea that I make by the gallon. And I stay warm and comfy by doing this in bed next to a sunny window with a blind I can adjust for light. I do some drawing in my art journal if my tremor isn't too bad. I can also work on drafts for my blog on my tablet so that when I feel well again, I can fine tune them on the computer and post.

I've been thinking of taking up knitting again to make those fingerless mitts because the cold hurts my hands so much. If I find a pattern, I probably will. So if you happen to come across a basic knitting pattern for them, send it my way, please!

My husband snores and I get migraines, so we can't sleep in the same room anymore. My room is designed for my comfort on bad days. A lot of little things, and some of them psychological, but they help me. Anything I can do to stay positive and feel better is worth it.

Take care,
Judi

The last time I had a flare up I was in bed for weeks. My husband brought me one of those adult coloring books for stress relief. And new colored pencils. It really worked for calming and switching focus. I just bought a new one its a tattoo version ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Ravelry has loads, and I have knitted several pairs. However, people keep walking off with them, lol.

I knit, bead, braid, occasionally crochet.... Whatever works best at the time. I used to do counted embroidery (hardanger, cross stitch, etc) but my hands are now too dodgy for fine work.

Nice to meet you!
