I do have a question for my team or anyone else that might have an answer or a comment. Why oh why do Doctors prescribe medications that are being advertised on television to be harmful for the patient? I have other problems that are no connected to my Fibro, I have had a PE blood clot and was prescribed Xarelto and that and other blood thinners are being named in a class action law suit, I have not had any of the side effects and take other medications that have serious side effects. I just… read more
@A MyFibroTeam Member, I’m on Xarelto too for DVT and PE, I’ve not experienced anymore pain than normal but like they say our bodies act different, no one person is the same. Hope you get better, are you on the Xarelto for life or just a period of time, I have to take mine for life since I’ve both kind of blood clots.
I was put on xarelto for a PE and my body started hurting all over I have gotten worse over the last two years I was a hard working women now I'm broken my pain in excruciating and I'm sure it was the xarelto.
I thank everyone for their input, I too look my medications up and look at the longer lists of side effects. My question was more disbelief than looking for an actual answer I guess, I was like "How can they do this to people when they know how severe these side effects are?" My medications are tracked in a computer system that actually find the interactions when they want to prescribe it, in that respect I'm lucky. I know the pharmaceutical companies are looking for a profit, and that's fine, it is up to the FDA to ok these meds and find them safe for the public. Thanks everyone and anyone else that gives their input.
I think also that not everyone gets the side effects. If even one person said they had a problem it has to be listed as a side effect. My problem is I get all the rare side effects that are listed if you search for the side effects (they aren't typically list it on the general information pamphlets)
It's also important to look up drug interactions. Do your own research and then present it to the doctor.
Almost all drugs have some sort of side effects. As long as it is not being pulled off the market, it is trial and error on what works for you. Lyrica didn't do anything for me. It actually made things worse and I gained 30 lbs in 3 months, which was bad for my joints. But my body is hypersensitive to side effects. It may be different for you.
