I have tried physical therapy many times and I always seem to get into a bad flare and each time I go the worse I feel. Does this happen to anyone else?
The pain comes from a good place. It means it's working.
Yes, 3 different Drs and several therapist over the years have told me Fibro and PT don't mix well. I'm sure it works for some, But most of us just flare.
What type of PT? I get the dry needling and can tell you that this DOES release toxins into the system which can temporarily make you feel awful. I pay for it on the day of treatment.
Some things I have found help like short walks, gentle stretches, tai chi, hydrotherapy. People say yoga is also very good. Shorter regular exercise seems to be better than exercising for a long time then having to have recovery days in between. A good physiotherapist will tailer the exercises perciffically for your needs and adapt any that you struggle with so that maybe you just do the very start of an exercise and build up gradually to the whole thing.
Yes the same happens with me . I used to go swimming but it aggravates my pain . So I donβt go any more
