Has anyone experienced an area on their body that just starts to burn? Now I called my PCP and spoke to a Nurse and I told them last night I tried Aspercream on my back. I showered this morning and now as of this evening I have spots on my back that feel like they are on fire. Anyone else know if this?

You may want to go in and make sure you do not have shingles. Shingles is a virus caused from having chickenpox at a younger age. It affects a nerve ending and is very painful. It breaks as blisters. Stress causes it to become worse. We all know that fibro causes stress. Any age can get shingles.

@Kegermadnil, Hi have you ever tried Lyrica? It works for me because my feet were really bothering me with nerve pain and my doc prescribed it for me it works

I have neuropathy in my thigh and it literally feels like my leg is on fire. I even put ice on it a few times because it was burning so bad. Unfortunately all they did was put me on gabapentin. That makes me swell. The other medication they tried made me lose my sense of taste and caused massive spasms in my face. So now I just deal with the pain.

@A MyFibroTeam Member burn, the only thing I can think of is you put a little too much asper cream and rubbed it in too hard that's what happened to me and even after I took a shower I still burned. I told my doctor what happened and he gave me voltaren rub it works great. No burning, no smell and it truly works good, only use a little. Ask your doctor about it ok good-luck and you can text me if you can use someone to talk to

May be an irritated nerve being bothered by a muscle nearby. I would suggest a topical Cream with lidocaine to decrease sensitivity.
