I am newly diagnosed but have been symptomatic for some time, I have had my own counseling practice for over 16 yrs. but am finding it increasingly difficult to continue. I'm not sure if it would be worth it for me to apply for social security disability or not, and it seems painstakingly tedious. Also not sure if I should hire a lawyer for this
YES , What she said .... ICD Code for Fibro
i am in the middle of the process. I filed on my own, but added a lawyer after the first denial. I am now waiting to go before a judge. It has been over a year and a half now and may be the first of the year before I am in front of a judge. I highly recommend a lawyer who specializes in disability (usually paid only if you win). They handle a lot of the things my fibro fog would take three times as long to accomplish. Best of luck to you.
Kept trying to work even with my disability. I lost each job but kept on trying this made my case
It is definitely tedious, I am in the middle of the process now. But it will be worth it in the long run. If you get to the point that you cannot work anymore (like me) it will be a huge help.
