I went to the pain clinic the other day for my first visit. The doctor asked why I wasn't on a certain type of med that is for fibromyalgia. I'm already on Lyrica and Cymbalta. He said there is a drug that was approved specifically for fibro pain. Does anyone know what he would've been talking about? He's going to be giving a report to my family doctor but I can't see her till two weeks from now. I didn't write it down and of course I forgot what he said.
Hi Lindaforcupids, thanks for the info, but when you find out what the name for fibro actually is, please notify me and let me know, you can find me on myfibroteam or at my email address [[email: [[email: (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators), I have been on sevella before, they gave me some samples, but they only let my take my mental health medicine for about a month, but if they were going to have to take my mental health meds away, because they said that Sevella had a mental health drug in it, but like I said it wouldn't of been strong enough for me, then I wouldn't be able to get by day by day and no one would want to be around me, I get very irritable, but I don't mean to be. The Lyrica,150 mg 3 x a day, Hydrocodone,10's one 4 x a day, and tizidadine (muscle relaxer), I take 2 pills (which is 4 mg pills) and I take 2 three times a day, so that's 8mgs 3 x a day. And if the pain gets to bad I take a ibuprofen, but my Dr won't let me take more than 1 once a day and 60 ibuprofen's (One bottle) are supposed to last me for 4-6 months, and I had 3 epidural's in a 3month time period, 1 shot per month. Man the last shot hurt really bad, I felt it all the way down my leg, the other 2 shots weren't bad at all especially the 1st one. It took me close to 7 months to get these shots, they rescheduled once, then I had a major panic attack, then it took 2-3 months to start the shots, then the shots come in a 3 month series, I had my shots in my low back, the last shot was towards my left hip for the last shot. Sorry I went overboard on the answer. Thanks,
Jennelle Allen
I read recently at I think University of Alabama research done and clinical studies It is a drug called naltroxene. It was used for opiate users to stop using opiates.Naltroxene was given to certain amount of people with fibromyalgia and the results were remarkable. At this time they are still researching .
Savella is not a new fibro drug I was on that drug 7 years ago when I first was diagnosed. I didn't find it worked very well but it all depends on the person.
@A MyFibroTeam Member Cesamet is the brand name I think and Nabilone is the generic or vice versa. Some people I know have had success with it. My GP has never brought it up, I've only read about it in forums. Good luck and keep us posted :)
