Members overwhelmingly confirmed that fibromyalgia pain intensifies significantly during menstruation, with many describing debilitating symptoms including extreme fatigue, widespread body aches, heightened skin sensitivity, and abdominal pain that makes even light touch unbearable. Several members shared that their struggles extend beyond the period itself, affecting up to three weeks each month including pre-menstrual and recovery phases, with some finding relief through continuous birth control pills or planning hysterectomies after completing their families. A recurring theme was the compounding effect of overlapping conditions like endometriosis and anemia, along with the acknowledgment that hormonal fluctuations throughout life, including ovulation and menopause, continue to worsen fibromyalgia symptoms.

My last period was 8 months ago (menopause) but I get abdominal/ pelvic pain that feels like the worst period ever. I do t know where it's coming from since I don't get periods anymore.

Yes until I went on a birth control pill that I have not had but 2 periods in the last 10 months. Dr. Also told me if I stay on them through menopause I would not have symptoms or hot flashes. I'm 49 and I'm sure heading that was and I know fibro gets worse with menopause or any hormonal ups and downs.

I've always have bad times of the month but as my fibro gets worse so does this pain. I also get pain during the ovulation time too :P Besides pain I get even more fatigued to where I pass out, nausea, heavy flow/clotting, etc. I was diagnosed with endometriosis five years ago so this could also be a factor besides. I've talked to my doctor and he's agreed that after my husband and I have our third child (not pregnant yet) that it will be our final... I can't take that time of the month anymore.
