I was denied and got approved when I hired a lawyer. I suggest that people get a lawyer right away.

Best of luck. They told me because I had lost insurance for a year, that I had to have 12 straight months of medical history. SO be sure if you are not seeing your doctor EVERY month you do so. Also make sure that you ask the nurse to write down all symptoms you have each month. Keep a journal and be aggressive about the notes they put in. they need to have this in your medical history of all the problems you have been having.... They also like you to not own a thing or like you to be doing even part time work. I got denied because I can afford to not work....

I filed I'm in NC, I was approved right away but unelegible for Medicare for two years. You have to be disabled for two years to get MC.
