Does anyone else out there have problems with certain odors? My husband had boiled eggs for lunch, and the smell made me nauseous.

Members enthusiastically connected over heightened sensitivity to smells, with many sharing that perfumes, cooking odors (especially meats, fish, and eggs), chemical cleaners, and scents like vanilla, musk, and blacktop can trigger nausea, headaches, and even physical illness. Several members described practical coping strategies, including using Vicks VapoRub at the nostrils to block unpleasant odors, avoiding places like Bath and Body Works, and recognizing that sensitivities often intensify during flares or migraines. A recurring theme was the relief of feeling understood and less alone, with many expressing gratitude for a community that validates experiences like sound and light sensitivities, clumsiness, and the invisible fluctuations that loved ones struggle to fully comprehend.

My husbandcthinksxinam strange in my aversion to smells and sounds. I absolutely hate any musk and he loves musk aftershave. I get really sick and cough a lot. We are all funny aren't we? It all goes together. It is depressing in one way but in another you realize you aren't the only one. I think there are more of "us".
I love peace and quiet and calm days plus quiet music and relaxing times. Not much of that in my life but I still hope!

AMEN Doodlebum! My body spent repel itself so to speak, but odors kill me . Blacktop, tar, perfumes and eggs are at the top of my list currently. I love silence....well, rather I use to. Someone need to change to static in my head to music please!!! Klutz? Me too. I dropped my mother's original corningware teapot 6 inches from the floor and watched it shatter. Hurt my heart and my ears!!! I've decided I'm not talking about all the crap that goes on with this crap at home any longer. Gets me nowhere fast. Don't get me wrong, all are very supportive, just don't understand how I can go from "normal" to not in a very short time.
