Yes, moderate to extreme sensory sensitivity (light, noise, touch, smell, air pressure.etc.) is something I have seen occur with many many FM/Chronic pain sufferers. It can be incredibly overwhelming sometimes so figuring out coping strategies is essential. It IS real, it's not imaginary or psychological, our CNSs have been, and will continue to be (until the research catches up) "re-wired" in a way that none of us really understand but can't fail to feel happening to us.
My eyes are also extremely sensitive to light and lights but also don't see well in the dark.this disease tightens all your senses .my hearing is much more sensitive also .Everything is heightened, it's a drag !
yes i must wear sun glasses out side
Very much so, dryness and fatigue doesn't help. Or being over 40! Moisturizing eye gels and special drops.
My eyes have been Extremely sensitive to light since 2009. It's to the point where there are no sunglasses dark enough to wear when outside & especially driving. Even the lights inside are too bright. I live in almost darkness at home. I actually spend most of my days at home because of the light sensitivity. Anyone who knows of a very good inexpensive very dark sunglasses please let me know because I lost the ones that worked the best for me the other day. Thanks.
