Members shared their most unusual fibromyalgia symptoms in response to a question about strange experiences with the condition, with common themes including vision problems like jumpy eyes, sudden stabbing pains that appear and disappear within minutes, and the bizarre sensation of feet or limbs feeling swollen or on fire despite looking completely normal. Several members described neurological symptoms such as fibro fog, losing balance, confusion, difficulty speaking or finding words, and forgetting names of loved ones, along with physical sensations like muscle spasms, extreme sensitivity to touch that results in bruising, and the feeling of ants crawling under the skin. A recurring theme was the unpredictable and isolating nature of fibromyalgia, with members expressing both frustration and solidarity over how the condition makes their bodies feel under constant attack in ways that are difficult to explain to others.

Feeling like I'm a super hero just discovering my super senses. I become so overwhelmed I shut down. The scariest symptom is when I lose my ability to speak properly. I studder, I say words I don't mean to, my words just come out all wrong and in the weirdest order. Sometimes I think I'm making sense and I'm not. That's really hard for me.

It does seem like our bodies are being attacked! My leg and feet pain have increased in the last 6 months and I have no clue why. I agree with you, that it must be something with the nerve endings. It has been so bad that I now have to wear slippers around the house since we have tile floors throughout and it hurts to walk on the tile. Bleh! Sucks!

I get the feet feeling swollen. They feel like I have elephant feet but when you look at them, they look normal.
