Ok coastal people....have you noticed a decrease in pain when you swim in the ocean or is it all in my head? I've been going in to the ocean twice a day the last 4 days and I seem to feel better immediately after....but then i'll get some pains hours later...anyone else?
I finally got my Fibromyalgia diagnosis today! She prescribed aquatic therapy...I'm excited to get started. As a massage therapist I am familiar with fibro, I recently attended training for Cupping Massage which has helped me immensely with pain http://www.webmd.com/balance/guide/cupping-therapy. Another therapist at the same seminar recently opened a spa in Indianapolis with a salt water float spa. I'm anxious to try this new therapy out unfortunately, I live about 70 miles away so I won't be visiting often enough. I can tell you that the spa that I work at has a far infrared sauna which is amazing to sit in for 30 minutes http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/con... Best of luck with your journey of relaxation, Christine
Maybe its mind relaxing and that triggers your whole body to relax causing pain relief. The more relax you are the more pain free you'll be at least that's what I've notice with my body.
Agree. The salt water is amazing. I often feel at home. Like I should be a mermaid 😄. I use to do aqua fitness. It was great to get me moving and feeling better. But nothing compares to the fresh ocean!!
I just spent 2 weeks in Hawaii and swam every day. It was the most amazing feeling to not feel that chronic pain. Of course it returned, but I loved it while I could.
Yes the ocean does help I agree
