Just wonder if anyone has tried hypnosis, due to the fact that fibromyalgia has a lot to do with the brain and our nervous system I'm wondering if hypnosis would help . When I asked my specialist about this he suggested a psychiatrist, but the psychiatrist couldn't recommend a hypnotist for me
I meditate which I know has helped me with my pain and I had to stop working after 20 years because of the crazy muscle spasms, nerve pain, joint pain, fatigue, etc.
I used to have debilitating flares that kept me bedridden for up to a week in severe pain. Once I learned how to meditate correctly, the flares stopped.
Mindful breathing can have a huge effect. Also, since many fibromites have experienced trauma, you can try to find a trauma hypnotherapist. With some study, you can even create your own hypnosis, by recording yourself and listening to the recording to go into a hypnotic/ meditative trance. Definitely worth a try.
Now that's something I really want to learn how to do, I have tried it but have difficulty shutting everything out I think that's next on my to do list may sign up with a class this winter thanks for your advice
Thanks Maryin I did see a phychlogist as part of a program I was in she made me feel worse . Told me that I have to prepare myself that I may never be pain free. My Dr and I did discuss the idea of a phychiatrist and the fact that they would only prescribe anti psychotic drugs which I definitely don't want more drugs
