Help For The Pain.
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Can anyone give me suggestions for something for the pain. I currently take Cymbalta, neurotin and flexaril but nothing helps. I am willing to try anything. My doctor said about trying Lyrica. Is anybody using it? If so does it work? Thanks.

I agree with David - was on Cymbalta on and off for 5 yrs. When I went off of it I went thru a month of withdrawals. I believe Cymbalta masks what other meds can actually do. When I was on it nothing gave me relief. I don't take meds anymore. It's like I came out of a coma once I got all of that crap out of my system. I'm going to try some natural meds and I'll let everyone know how they do. The page has glowing reviews!

My doctor had me on Lyrica and Cymbalta at the same time and it created a really bad suicidal situation for me that I almost acted on.
Now granted everybody is different but I wanted to make sure you at least were aware of some scary side effects.
Good luck.

Have you ever tried anything other than medication? Am I crazy? Maybe. However, I have become fond of drawing a bath, on the warmer side, and using aromatherapy bath oils and relaxing, soundscape music. Bath and Body Works has one of the best selections that I have found BUT they are a bit pricy. Wal- Mart also has a selection by Village Naturals. Their selection is much smaller yet it is just as effective. Personally, I believe in a narcotic free lifestyle (due to the side affects) unless they are completely necessary. Hope this helps! :) Have a blessed day!

I was on Lyrica and Cymbalta at the same time several years ago - it was not a good thing. Lots of cognitive issues and side-effects. After weaning off both meds and feeling the resultant clearing of my mind, I was amazed that I had lived through it all - there were times I would drive home from work and not remember how I got home - very scary stuff. Also, the Lyrica cannot just be stopped - you must wean off it or it can potentially cause seizures. It took me almost 4 months to finally get off the stuff. I will admit that the Lyrica/Cymbalta combination did help the pain initially but within a few months was no longer of any help at all. Please be careful with this combination of medications. Good luck.
