I have tried: Cymbalta, Flexeril, Lyrica, Tramadol and Amitriptyline over the past 2 years. None of them have significantly helped my symptoms, in fact I feel worse than I did when I started with the exception of Anxiety and sleep. Today I am going to my Internist who I see every couple of months and asking if there is anything else zi can try, or should I just accept this and file for disability? I'm nervous about my appointment as the Dr.s I see seem as frustrated as I am that nothing… read more

Members deeply connected over the frustration of trying multiple fibromyalgia medications without relief, with many sharing that they eventually found more success through vitamin and supplement routines, including 5-HTP, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin B complex, and omega-3, often after years of struggling with synthetic drugs that caused difficult side effects. Several members described practical approaches that helped them, such as food sensitivity testing to identify inflammatory triggers, anti-inflammatory medications like Celebrex, time-released Gabapentin (Gralise), and the emotional support of therapy animals who intuitively sense pain and provide comfort during flares. A recurring theme was the importance of trusting your own body, working closely with supportive doctors, giving natural approaches time to work (often several months), and finding hope in small improvements rather than waiting for a cure.

In Oct. i was in the same boat as you...at the end of my rope. I had even filled out disability papers...but just prayed! Came across a post and my friend who has RA said she was doing a vitamin routine that helped so much. I said 'what the heck" i will give it a try. and again prayed...by Dec I tried and haven't looked back. it has changed my life. not a cure but worked better than anything else. so try a natural route. I have less flares more energy and brain fog is at it's lowest.

I know how you feel. I have thrown the towel in somewhat. I try exercise, diet, physical therapy for a degenerative neck issue. All the medications and it fibromeylga had changed me I'm a shell of who I was. I had to close a business, cut down working, stop working, with my Husbands support thankfully. I'm 53 soon and I'm filing for disability. I can't function regular everyday. Everyday is different. All my notes from my pain management doctor where I also get cortisone put in all over. They put severe depression. Ah yeah. I was athletic and a runner ect. Done. Skin care business done. You do get depressed. Wow, just joined the group think I just had to get that out. Noone understands....... Thanks for being here!

I understand. I have tried everything! Everything. This has almost ruined my marraige. I'm so different than I was in my 30's.
Joking helps me cope. But there our times when depression is severe from feeling so bad. It's a horrible thing. I lost my business, had to give up alot of types of working out have a neck injury and degeneration. School was hard took a break from that, I know I'm 52, but not wanting to be in bed so much or tired. :(

I take 5-HTP which helps production of serotonin which aids sleep, mood and brain fog, VitD helps immune system and with bone pain, VitB complex which is for energy and helps fatigue and brain fog, magnesium which is for relaxing muscles and helps nervous system, omega 3 for Brain fog. I also drink a cup of camomile tea before bed to help with sleep and a cup of green tea with lime and VitB6 on a morning to get my energy going.
It is recommended that 5-HTP is taken alongside magnesium and Vit B.
