Members shared powerful stories connecting the onset or worsening of fibromyalgia to traumatic events, including falls, car accidents, surgeries, domestic violence, cancer treatment, and intense periods of psychological stress. Several members described how their fibromyalgia began or intensified following physical injuries like back surgery, concrete falls, or rotator cuff tears, while others traced their symptoms to emotional trauma, with one member's physical therapist confirming that such connections are well recognized. A recurring theme was that stress and trauma continue to trigger flares, and members offered each other prayers and support as they navigate the lasting impact of these difficult experiences.

Yes. My fibro is domestic violence related. I suspected but never told my doctors. I finally opened up to my physical therapist and well, there's the answer as to how it all started.

Yes my Fibro started after my cancer and if you talk to others with Fibro most of the time Fibro either starts or gets worse with a traumatic event! I know I flare up a lot with weather and when something happens that worries me or I get anxiety about!

I have not had fibro attract a traumatic event, but have looked at my fibro over the years and realized that every physical or mental trauma has made my fibro worse
