How Long Did It Take For You To Realize Lyrica Was Making You Worse?!
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been taking lyrica for almost 2 weeks and am feeling miserable. Extree
Extremmly moody, irritable and the pain is getting worse. My periods are out of wack which is causing me to be in even more pain. I want to stop lyrica but I know my Dr will want me to try it longer to see if it will work. What should I do?

You really have to get on board with a pain doctor for pain meds. Most rheumatologist and primaries won't prescribe long term pain meds, muscle relaxers or sleep meds. I have a pain doctor now I've been seeing for 3.5 yrs now.

Usually , meds take 6-8 weeks until relief from side effects start subsiding. If they do. If not, well it might be time to try a different kind.

Thinking of you!! I had terrible side effects and mood swings when I first started Lyrica too. Big hugs! I found that the side effects eased off after about two months, but I had been on a roller coaster ride of crazy mood swings up to that point. My poor family had to suffer through it! Having said that, it has been worth it as it has almost eliminated my nerve pain.

he'll need to change your meds but the biggest help I've gotten is from using pain SPECIALIST

I'm sorry the Lyrica isn't working well for you. It's amazing how differently meds work for different people. I started taking it in 2009 and it's worked amazingly well for me, not only for my pain, but for my depression and sleep issues. I experienced results almost immediately and with no side effects. I know physicians say they like us to give each med an honest try, I would think a month would be sufficient. ( I'm not a doctor, that's just my opinion) Have you tried cymbalta? I've heard some have good results with it. I wish you the best of luck.
