Members connected over the exhausting reality of daily headaches and migraines, with many describing pain lasting days or even weeks, severe light sensitivity, and feeling trapped in dark rooms unable to work or function normally. Several members shared what has helped them find relief, including occipital nerve injections, daith ear piercings, urgent care migraine cocktails with Benadryl, Lamotrigine, radiofrequency ablation for nerve pain, and allergy testing to identify food or environmental triggers. A recurring theme was the frustration of trying countless medications and treatments without success, the toll on daily life and parenting, and the solidarity of knowing others truly understand how debilitating chronic head pain can be.

Injections are suppose to help but the radiofrequency abalation in the lumbar is where they burn the nerve endings which stops the pain signal to and from the brain thereby eliminating the pain. However, the nerve endings grow back to if it helped it has to be done again. Mine lasted a year and a half so I am going thru it again.

I've had them since puberty. I get migraines, sinus headaches, tension headaches, etc. The migraines are the worst and have sent me to the hospital. Last time I ended up at urgent care and she gave me 3 shots in the hip and it worked great. Benadryl and something else...I can look up if anyone is interested. They do make you really woozy but the pain stayed away for 2 days.

I recommend checking on allergies. My sensitivities have skyrocketed since my diagnosis. Headaches have always been a daily occurrence for me. They are worse now, of course with the increased sensitivities.

I have horrible headaches! Started migrains at 17 had them ever since. A few years ago I began having occipital neuralgia and a little trigeminal neuralgia. I take 3 excedrin migrains, a maxalt mlt and ice pack and go to bed usually in 24 hrs it is gone but if not I see my pain mgmt dr. And he injects the occipital area. Sometimes I am down days at a time.
