I have PCOS. I would go months without cycle and bam hemorrhage. My Dr told m e last surgery if I have to do surgery again it is hysterectomy. I struggled a few times. This last time two years ago. She said at my last visit. I can't believe we gave come this far and I have not had to cut you. So I said what if I bleed again. She said your in early menopause if y o u do most likely would be surgery. She tells her colleagues about my insides because she said it us the worst she has seen.

I agree with MaureenH, make the surgery a last option, it took a long time to heal and as my chef quit less than 3 weeks after mine and I had to go back to work, if you do have surgery listen to what they say and rest for that first 6-8 weeks FMS means the pain is higher but I found in hospital they saw FMS as someone who just wanted more drugs, even though they gave me enough to put down an elephant and I was still in pain, and although the scars not as big as it used to be it's enough to take down anyone let alone someone with fibromyalgia, please I repeat research ALL your options, and don't go surgery unless you absolutely gave to?

I had painful and very heavy periods for 10 years. I had D&C's numerous times and had fibroids removed. My Dr did not want to do a hysterectomy. 2 years ago I had my period for 30 days straight and my blood work showed I was in menopause. He finally did the hysterectomy. I do not regret it but.... it is major surgery due to my fibromyalgia the pain and recovery was hard. My advice is if it's a medical necessity do it. If you have other options try them first.

I'm so sorry. When that started happening to me I had a hysterectomy.

My daughter inlaw has the I'd and her pain is worse and her PMS is shocking, and yes periods are worse with FMS, I had a partial hysterectomy for pain, they found I had a huge cyst in my uterus, I still have ovaries but I'm still going through menopause now, I'll take period pain over menopause any day (I'm 44)
