I was on Prednisone for 10 days for bronchitis and my legs felt great. Little to no pain and I was able to get up from a sitting position with no difficulty or struggle. I don't think Prednisone is allowed to be used long term. Does anyone take it long term? Is there a similar alternative opition?

Prednisone has so many great uses but has horrible side effects if taken too long.

My pain MD has used Prednisone on several occasions when I have had bad Fibro flare ups for short term ie 10 days and it does help the exessive flare decrease.
I highly recommend asking MD for low dose short therapy.

My docs were both concerned about bone density and muscle degradation effects. My primary care doc prescribed PT for three months following discontinuing the 40 mg dosage. I gained 17lbs during this period. I craved everything even foods I never particularly liked in the past. Be careful.
