I just started taking Lyrica 75 mg twice a day and at night I have involuntary movement in my legs, arms and back. It is weird. Does anyone else have side effects from Lyrica?

Members shared varied experiences with Lyrica for fibromyalgia, with side effects ranging from involuntary muscle movements and twitching to severe allergic reactions, numbness, and even triggering painful flares. Several members described a difficult trade-off between pain relief and uncomfortable side effects, with some finding the relief worth tolerating nighttime twitching while others discontinued the medication entirely due to adverse reactions or lack of effectiveness. A recurring theme was frustration with Lyrica being the most visible fibromyalgia medication despite its mixed results, alongside curiosity about alternative treatments like Cymbalta and Donepezil that have helped some manage pain with fewer issues.

I was diagnosed with a terminal disorder a year ago it was a combo of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's called Lewi Body Disorder. I was having hallucinations bad pain anxiety and some other stuff this went on for a year and a half before I was put in the hospital and diagnosed. They changed all my meds around took me off all pain meds except fentanyl patch. I was on 100 every three days. No more sleeping pills no more oral pain meds, anti anxiety meds,Benadryl or ibuprofen. All they said I could take was Tylenol. I still could have the patch but I wanted to get off it too. They put me on three meds for the new diagnosis one of them was the the one I told you about. I took these for about a year and decided the possible side effects were too much so when I saw my neurologist he asked if I had cont. to have hallucinations I told him no and he said I didn't have the terminal disorder and took me off the drug I wanted off. This is getting too long but getting off all the meds made my mind more clear. I wanted off the next one but since I had been on it my pain had decreased so I assumed it was from the dicyclomine. I looked it up again and saw it was for fibro along with some other things, it wasn't ment for fibro but it improve is in some people. I will find the site for you. The side effects are bad if you get them so I want off it. I will get back to you I hope I get lost on these sites and can't remember who people are so I hope I can talk again thanks for your kindness

tI put me in the worse flare I have ever had. I actually ran a fever with it. I am really afraid of Lyrica. It is a shame that it is the only drug that is on TV for Fibro. Pisses me off every time i see the commercials. I am sorry if it is actually helping some one on this site.

I took Lyrica for a while, and all it did was cause my legs to feel numb. It didn't ease the pain at all.

Yes and it's annoying but I put up with it for the pure pain relief x

Yes I did I had a brain reaction to it on my right side. My face and throat on the right swelled and my right arm started to jump. I went to the ER and got an allergy shot. I do not take it any longer and am on cymbalta. Good luck
