I have been to ER once and they were ok. They were very careful, I had terrible lower back pain and they ran tests to make sure it wasn't just the fibro. They were concerned it was a kidney infection. The nurse asked lots of questions and told me they were nervous with fibro patients as they didn't want to just blame symptoms on fibro incase it was something else. She asked lots of questions about if it was a different sort of pain or the normal pain but really intense. Upon tests coming back clear they weren't that helpful, just gave me more pain meds which didn't work and sent me home a few hours later.

I have many times. Sometimes some narcotic IV meds help me. Knocks me out for a little. I have had mostly good expierences in the er. If you are upfront about everything they are pretty nice. And most er workers get to know the difference, seekers and real pain.

Yes, I have been to the emergency room twice and then spent a week in hospital before I was diagnosed with Fibro. It took forever to diagnose me with it.

My family doctor referred me to a pain management doctor. He is part of my support team and I see him once amonth.

I told my doctor that I almost went one time to the ER and he said that they wouldn't have been able to do anything for me. I don't know if that's true are not.
