Members shared enthusiastic support for trying yoga to manage pain, with many recommending adaptive, restorative, or Hatha yoga and emphasizing the importance of going at your own pace through YouTube videos or apps that allow you to pause, rewind, and modify poses as needed. Several members described how gentle stretching helps decrease pain levels, improve range of motion, and calm the mind, though some cautioned that holding poses too long or choosing overly strenuous styles can make symptoms worse. A recurring theme was the value of practicing alone or in self-paced formats to avoid the pressure of keeping up with faster classes, with swimming and aquafit also mentioned as helpful low-impact alternatives.

I tried a 6 week yoga class. The students were quite young and I found that it was fast paced. I was rolling around on the ground trying to get up into the next pose and by that time, they were on to something else. I am now attempting yoga that I have found on YouTube. At least, I can pause the instructor when I need to. I find that the stretches do help decrease the pain level.

I loved swimming but getting to the Y was difficult. Their schedule of available times did not coincide well with my schedule and availability. I will be swimming in our public pools as soon as they are open this summer.

It can sometimes be useful but when you are stretched in one place for any prolonged period I find it makes things worse. Swimming is good maybe try aquafit .
