Members shared their experiences with vitamin D deficiency and fibromyalgia, with many confirming they have both conditions simultaneously and noting that the two often occur together. Several members described their treatment approaches, including weekly prescription vitamin D supplements, shots, or high-dose capsules like Ergocalciferol, with mixed results on whether supplementation reduced their fibromyalgia pain. A recurring theme was cautious optimism about ruling out vitamin D deficiency first before confirming a fibromyalgia diagnosis, while acknowledging that one condition does not exclude the other and that it takes time to see if supplementation improves symptoms.

Hi I have a vitamin d and b12 deficiency and take prescribed supplements for both. Been referred to rheumatology and they say I have some of the fibro spectrum but didn't confirm, although I have all the symptoms. Since the referral my GP is suggesting it is fibromyalgia. Also have costocondiritis.

My doctor says that people with fibromyalgia often have a vitamin d deficiency. The two go hand in hand. And if you Google symptoms of d deficiency it sounds a lot like fibromyalgia. Go figure. I just want to get my numbers up to where they should be to see if I do feel better. It sure can't hurt.

I just found out today that I have a serious Vitamin D deficiency, I was put on a prescription to be taken once a week. I went to WebMD and was surprised to find out it could be a big culprit to my pains. My hips, lower back has given me a fit lately. It bothers me a little that I have possibly done too much damage already, that this could have been prevented. But it is what it is, having fibro, I've learned how to deal.
