Does anyone have any pointers for dealing with a disability hearing?

I don't know how long ago this question was, but my lawyer told me when you go to a hearing they judge you on your looks. Like if you look sick enough. She said don't wear make up and dress down, don't dress nice and fancy. Wear something comfy.

I could not find an attorney to take my case. That was before anyone knew much about fibro. It is not an easy process. It was 5 years for me to get my disability. I suggest you appeal as soon as you get denial letter. Do not reapply it is like starting the process all over again. I was denied 3 times and had to go before the judge twice. Good Luck, hopefully you will get it after first try.

I myself hired an attorney because its way to much for me to take on...meaning fibro fog!!!and they count fibro as a condition up in the area with diabetis cancer depression etc....fibro I have learned is no Joke and you will never win the battle with it unless you listen to your body!!!! good luck guys and soft hugs to all!!!!
