Hi, Martha. I also take Lyrica and it does help with the pain. I too have gained weight with it.... a side effect I DID NOT need.
I also take duloxetine and I have some really nasty side effects, nightmares, excess sweating, etc. I'd like to get off of that but it's not easy to do so.

I had taken it for two yrs. and stopped because I gained so much weight.

Some hot flushes too but benefit is worth it to me

I tried going cold turkey (dangerous and silly of me) because i was on such high doses and withdrawal was bad and i felt in a brain fog, listless and sedated but when I got back on meds after 2 months at the lowest dosage possible, I feel much better and now am in process of slowly working to a dose higher. My experience is it takes 3-6 weeks for meds to kick in so try try try to ride it out if u can and warn your loved ones so they can be extra good to you and more understanding during that time!

Interesting comment about weight gain - I have gained weight while being on Duloxitine, but when I was soley on Gabapentin I didnt.
