Members recognized the described sensation of numbness paired with intense cramping pain from hip to foot as likely nerve pain, with many identifying it as sciatica based on their own experiences. Several members shared that similar symptoms have affected their legs, arms, hips, and thighs, describing sensations like pins and needles, hot flashes, tight bands, and a strange feeling of body parts being absent after the pain subsides. A recurring theme was the importance of getting checked for bulging or ruptured discs when numbness is involved, with treatment options ranging from injections and chiropractic care to managing chronic pain that has sometimes baffled doctors for years.

When I was 12 I started having these same symptoms! When I would lay down, numbness and cramp feeling would be on hip facing up. I'm a side sleeper. Progressed to hip pain in teen years bad enough to keep me out of sports. Mom had gamut of tests done but nothing was ever found. It comes and goes. It seems I have always lived with hip pain and baffled doctors. :)

Have you been checked for a ruptured or bulging disc? Sciatica is painful but when numbness is involved it is more serious. I have constant pain from hip to feet but not numbness like I had many years ago for a ruptured disc.

That was exactly what I thought. Sciatica. But when I have a flare I see my my chiropractor. Some times it takes a few treatments. I find I like doing this as opposed to meds.
