I am on medicaid and in Colorado, it doesn't pay for naturopaths. The most common specialists for fibromyalgia are Rheumatologists and Neurologists. Before you go to one, make sure they actually treat fibromyalgia. Also some chiropractors treat it.
@A MyFibroTeam Member You won't get away from an antidepressant... Cos let's face it... This messes with ur head quite a bit. However, I chose to work with a pharmacist friend, who was able to explain the effects of certain supplements and vitamins. I still use myprodol or any other schedule 2-3 pain and anti inflam, when I really can't bear it. But found using the following helped alleviate the day to day scheduled meds that kept me out of the workplace. Omegas 3 and 6. Zinc. Dolomite. I cannot take a standard multivitamin, as vit B makes me sleepy ( I know... It shouldn't but it does). There are few others to
. I would suggest seeing a naturopath / homeopath or get closer to your pharmacist. Here in SA dischem has some very caring pharmacists and they want to help you get the best out of life instead of living like an invalid zombie.
Next thing I suggest. Keep a diary of every last thing you do and eat and your stress levels and how u actually feel. This revealed a lot of areas for me that I need to avoid and some that actually helped me feel better.

Pain Management Dr. But first you should see your primary that way you have a referral if need be. Try eating fruits... It helps me. Also try anti-inflammatory drugs ex: aleve or advil. Hope this helps some
I agree that's where I got diagnosed was rheumatologist. I thought it was arthritis because my hip and knee joints were so painful.
My family physician is a D.O. she was good at helping to eliminate diseases & referring me to other specialists. A rhuematologist is who I finally got a diagnosis from.
