Members shared their most helpful strategies for managing pain, tension, and flare-ups associated with fibromyalgia, with hot water therapy emerging as a favorite approach through warm baths, heated pools, and extended hot showers. Several members recommended natural remedies including turmeric and ginger capsules, fish oil for joint pain, essential oils like lavender and peppermint, menthol muscle rubs, and meditation apps to manage pain and promote better sleep. Practical accommodations like using a bath seat for safety, dressing in layers, and taking prescription medications like tramadol during severe flares were also mentioned as important tools for getting through difficult days.

Meditation app on yor phone it helps to relive the pain for a while and make you feel more refreshed or have a nap. Lavender and peppermint oil in almond oil mixed together rub in areas that are sore usually everywhere and also if you have a really bad headache rub a little bit of Vicks on your temples this also work if you rub it around your ear for earache

When I find a muscle is overly tight and painful I massage in a muscle rub with menthol in it. I think it's more the massage helping but the menthol at least distracts from the pain. I use it on the back of my neck before I go to bed and it seems to keep me from waking up with aheadache.

I have read a lot about Termeric and also spoke to my Fibro specialist about it. I just started it so we shall see.

I am sensitive to most pain relievers. I use a combination of turmeric/ginger capsules that I make. I add a dash of pepper to the mix because it intensifies the turmeric absorption. I use EFAs (fish oil) for joint pain. Other herbs and supplements.
