Lack Of Understanding Regarding Diagnosis
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

How do people cope when a family member does not understand about the effects that fibromyalgia has on you, to the extent that you are being accused of faking it just to get out of work! When you try to sit down and discuss things you get told to 'shut up' or 'I have pain to and have to get on with it'! (Especially as this family member has been told options to treat pain but refuses treatment!)

Having A Side Worse Than The Other
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have found out that my right side hurts more frequently than my left. Does anybody else have this problem.

A MyFibroTeam Member

Do you happen to be left handed. I have always wondered in the favorable side we use hurts the worst because it is used more. Just wondering.

Can Fibromyalgia Amplify The Pain Of Other Conditions?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a question about pain. I've had osteoarthritis in my knees for 10 years. I just got diagnosed with fibro. It seems lately my knees have been in so much more pain than before. Can fibromyalgia make the pain from osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel, or plantar fasciitis feel even more painful?

A MyFibroTeam Member

I believe it can because everything hurts worse during a flare up, including my eyes, feet and hands, these are non pressure points for me.

Exhaustion And Fatigue
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi what are the do's and don't about exhaustion and fatigue. What works for you and please this cannot be a lack of vitamins, I take my vits everyday for years.
Please what do you do? Is this exhaustion and fatigue real or is in my head!!!!!!!!!!

A MyFibroTeam Member

it is definitely not in your head. I usually nod right off where I am if it is possible. Sometimes that 10min or so with my eyes closed actually helps.

Has Your Spirituality Increased Or Decreased Since Your Diagnosis?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Diagnosis and coming to terms with it has been difficult for me and I've found myself looking inward to my spirit to find ways to deal as well as getting a regimen of medications in order for me.

I know this may be a politically incorrect question to ask and i do not mean to offend anyone at all.

I just wanted to see if others find themselves growing personally while in the midst of all this pain or if you've become more skeptical and put off because of the pain?

A MyFibroTeam Member

I also have been through too much to recount here. Suffice it to say I have grown closer to my God, and i honestly believe He has something more for me to do, because He has kept me alive for so long.

Do You Feel Paranoid To Go Outside And Be Around People And/or Within Crowds??
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know that I am petrified to be around crowds and around too many people!! All of this began gradually since I became ill with Fibromyalgia together with depression!!

A MyFibroTeam Member

Yes, at times. Sometimes I'm ok and sometimes I'm not. I do what's best for me for whatever I'm going through. I do take SAM-e and that works for me. Vit B12, Vit D & Adrenal support also helped… read more
