Have you both tried carrying your phone sideways instead of flat and straight?
Can you get a better grip on it when it is sideways and easier on your hand?

Does holding your phone cause pain in your hands and thumbs, and is everything hurting to the point of being bedridden?

You are absolutely not alone in this. Many MyFibroTeam members describe full-body pain that makes even the smallest tasks — like holding a phone — feel overwhelming. It's one of the most frustrating parts of fibromyalgia. Here are a few things that might help make phone use a little easier:
- Voice-to-text — let your phone do the typing so your hands get a break
- Phone stand or pillow prop — keeps the phone at eye level so you're not gripping it
- Larger text settings — reduces eye strain so you're not squinting and tensing up
- Stylus — takes pressure off your thumbs and fingers
- Voice assistants (like Siri or Google) — can handle calls, texts, and searches hands-free
On the bedridden days, be gentle with yourself. Rest is not giving up — it's part of managing fibromyalgia. If the pain feels unmanageable, it's worth reaching out to your doctor to review your pain management plan.

@A MyFibroTeam Member.
That silicon holder that I use can be put next to you at a desk, table or arm chair.
This way, you do not need to hold it (cell phone) to type or read and it is on an angle like an easel
