Hard to describe. I wear glasses only for reading and not for distance. But sometimes I feel like my vision isn’t as good as it used to be. Like I have to check twice before turning when I’m driving. Or is it just the aging process? I’m 55.

Members responded warmly to a question about vision changes and fibromyalgia, with many sharing that dry eyes, blurry vision, and fluctuating eyesight are common experiences tied to the condition. Several members recommended using preservative-free eye drops like Systane or Refresh, noting that staying on top of lubrication made a big difference, while others pointed out that certain medications like Lyrica can also affect vision. A recurring theme was the importance of telling eye doctors about a fibromyalgia diagnosis and advocating for yourself, since the connection between fibro and eye issues is not always recognized by providers.

Lore, Another thing, it can also be some of your medications. Check to see if any of your medications can affect your eyesight. For instance Lyrica (which I know you don't take) but I read that it can affect your eyesight. Some medications are also otic toxic.
PS it never hurts to check twice before turning because of the way some people drive.

Unfortunately I have found out this to be make the true. Fibromyalgia effects the nerves in your eyes causing disturbances. I also have a close friend who experiences issues and when she discussed it with her eye doctor he didn't make the connection causing her to constantly get new glasses. When I told her it might be a fibro related issue I still don't think she made the connection. The good news, while my eyes are still effected they have improved slightly as long as I'm not flaring. If you see an eye doctor let them know you have fibromyalgia and what would be the most beneficial thing for you. 💘💖
