Start with pain medicine. Then, depending upon how severe it is, I lay down and read with Ellen, or watch TV, listen to music, take a walk through the garden, call a friend to chat, eat some chocolate, you get the idea.

I do guided meditations which also help with pain. Or, I try to read or watch travel shows on tv.

I try to distract myself from focusing on the pain by:
Watching something interesting on tv
I use a heating paid if it's one body part that hurts
Listen to a Podcast
Get comfortable and read a book
Take a warm shower and then a nap

@A MyFibroTeam Member Just want to add that if you are wanting to distract yourself by reading and posting on this site, but your hands are too painful, make voice to text your friend 💛💚💙! I have to do that quite often when I am too sore to type. It can be a little glitchy, but it reduces typing a ton, even if you have to correct some stuff.

I read if I can, meditate if I can't [in other words, hunker down til the shitstorm passes]. If it's not quite crippling and there's some Brain Fog helping numb me, I do email and social media cos I can remain almost entirely still and not have to think much (I have a great ergonomic chair which helps).
