Are you asking about GLP-1 medications and their potential role in managing fibromyalgia symptoms?
GLP-1 receptor agonists (like semaglutide/Ozempic or tirzepatide/Mounjaro) are generating a lot of buzz, and some people with fibromyalgia have reported feeling better on them. Here's what's currently understood:
Potential benefits being explored:
- Reduction in systemic inflammation, which may help with fibro pain
- Weight loss, which can reduce pressure on painful areas
- Improved energy levels reported anecdotally by some members
- Possible neuroprotective effects that may influence pain signaling
Important cautions to keep in mind:
- Research specifically on fibromyalgia and GLP-1s is still very limited
- Side effects can include nausea, fatigue, and digestive issues — which can overlap with and potentially worsen existing fibro symptoms
- These medications are prescription-only and require close medical supervision
- They are not currently an approved or standard treatment for fibromyalgia
It's really worth having an open conversation with your doctor or rheumatologist about whether a GLP-1 medication might make sense for your specific situation. Everyone's fibro journey is different, and what helps one person may not help another.

Apparently it's not good for everybody so be careful. I never tried it but I read about a well-known actress who played Sheldon's girlfriend on The Big Bang Theory. She also played Blossom as a child She had a very very bad reaction to taking the drug one time. In her case it caused severe diarrhea and lots of other bad symptoms. She also has had a thyroid disease since she's been very young. I think it's called Graves disease. Anyway you'd have to look her up but she had a very bad reaction. She wasn't taking it to lose weight. I forgot why she took it once but she was very very sorry that she did. She only took one pill and the diarrhea that followed never let up. Be careful. It's not for everyone.
