Does fibromyalgia make you overly sensitive to odors?
The search results provided don't specifically address heightened sensitivity to odors as a fibromyalgia symptom. However, many people with fibro do report increased sensitivity to various stimuli, which is sometimes called sensory overload.
While the available information doesn't cover smell sensitivity directly, fibromyalgia can cause heightened sensitivity to things like light, sound, temperature changes, and touch. It wouldn't be unusual for this to extend to smells as well.
If you're experiencing increased sensitivity to odors, you're not alone in dealing with sensory issues related to fibro. Many members of the fibromyalgia community experience various types of sensory sensitivities that can make daily life more challenging.
You might find it helpful to discuss this symptom with your healthcare provider, especially if it's significantly impacting your quality of life.

I am very sensitive to odors but always thought it is not related to fibro.
The funny thing is, I have allergies but still can identify bad odor, nicotine, on the bus or any type of faul smell.
I hope it helps.
