@A MyFibroTeam Member gum disease is considered an insidious disease, or a disease that sneaks up on you. You typically don’t know that you have it until someone tells you that you do. While it’s most definitely worthwhile getting it treated, it’s unlikely what is causing your dental pain unless your teeth are loose. I have random tooth pain all of the time from how our nerves react with fibromyalgia. A few months ago I was absolutely positive I was going to need a root canal. The pain was so awful that I couldn’t even chew. It went away as inexplicably as it arrived, no particular cause. As I type this I can feel that all of my upper teeth are aching, with one in particular standing out. Our brains, unfortunately, aren’t working the way they should. They are sending random pain signals everywhere and that includes in the mouth. It’s another one of the many areas of pain that some of us get to experience.
I love my electric toothbrush! They are the best. I have mine set to sensitive and the light changes color when you push too hard. It helps your teeth feel so clean. Unfortunately, not much can help with the discomfort sometimes, especially when it’s related to the fibro. My boss tries to understand what I’m going through, but doesn’t really get it. Sometimes we will deal with people who have Trigeminal neuralgia, which causes random nerve pain on one side of their face. I’m so much more sympathetic to these people than I was before. I get it now.
Hello @A MyFibroTeam Member It’s awful isnt it! 😬 I have terrible time with my teeth due to fibro hate it and I hate the dentist chair 😓 I was told at my regular check up appointment I have it 😱 your right there! it does creep up on you. Gutted but I will rectify it and recover 🙌 caught it early, the dentist told me it could explain my sensitivity and pain in gums.
I think it maybe I’ve been brushing to hard and need to buy an electric toothbrush with pressure sensors 😀
