Hi Trevor
I used to live in my parents old house and the only thing keeping it up was mould. I spent forever trying to clean paint etc. When I moved into the flat I'm now in I was horrified as I'd just got everything sorted and the wall by the window was black/blue furry mould. Tea tree oil ( wear a mask and gloves) mix tea tree with warm water and clean down the wall. Tea tree is quite strong so if you are asthmatic open windows while doing this. It's really worked well all over winter. I've washed it down maybe 3 times. Hope this helps
Peps 😘

Have others with fibromyalgia experienced toxic exposures like black mold?

You're not alone in connecting toxic exposures to your fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. A MyFibroTeam member shared their journey of discovering that environmental toxins, including metal poisoning and other exposures, were underlying contributors to their symptoms. They found that removing harmful chemicals from their life—including mainstream makeup, hygiene products, and cleaning products—brought noticeable results.

The connection between toxic exposure and fibromyalgia symptoms is something many people are exploring. Some have found that working with alternative medicine practitioners helped them identify specific toxins affecting their health, like metal poisoning and other environmental factors.

What helped:

- Removing toxic products from daily life (cleaning supplies, personal care items)
- Working with practitioners who test for specific toxins
- Making lifestyle changes to limit ongoing toxic intake
- Addressing gut health issues that can result from toxic exposure

It's worth noting that one member described feeling empowered once they understood what was actually wrong with their body, rather than just accepting "fibromyalgia" as the complete answer. They emphasized the importance of finding practitioners who look deeper into root causes.

Your construction work and mold exposure could definitely be contributing factors worth investigating with a healthcare provider who specializes in environmental toxins.

I have black mold in my kitchen and in my bathroom I have cleaned the wall with bleach. It's these old houses. And our climate is humid
