I’m living in an unhealthy environment and plan to move to a small apartment for peace of mind. Suggestions/ideas are appreciated.

I would start early by getting rid of things that I don't find useful anymore i.e. trash, donate... pack in boxes and mark on the outside what is in them. Make sure you take frequent breaks. Stay hydrated, find help. I hope this helps and good luck

You’ve got wonderful advice!
Purging is probably my favorite.

This may not be what you are looking for, but my advice is about how you label and pack. As a professional nomad, I always try to pack according to priorities and by location.😂

I label each box by room and color and hang something on each door- that way your helpers get boxes shuffled to the right location.

I also number each box and to a degree list some contents or give a generic description on a corresponding list or even the box.
Can be overkill, but this allows me to take my time unpacking.
I’ve found it vital balancing a full time job, moving, and your health. 🤷‍♀️

Priority boxes are labeled differently and have their own location, so they don’t get lost in the shuffle.

Have you started looking for a new space? 💛💐

What a lovely change to look forward to! Since it doesn't sound like an emergency, you might be able to make pacing a priority? You can take your time and look carefully into a new apartment for yourself, one that will work out for you.
1. Rest preemptively and rest during a task, including looking for an apartment online and in person... and rest after you finish one and before you start another. That sounds so simple but it's really hard because when you are moving you just want to be done and accomplish as much as you can. It's all too easy to think, "Well, I'll just box up these items, too, and then clean that corner..."
2. Eat well and drink plenty of water. That sounds like a no brainer too but it's all too easy to just grab a muffin and coffee and "power through" but that makes everything so much harder.
3. Enlist help: if you can afford it, hire whatever services you can to make it easier.

And hopefully, you get to celebrate in a new home sweet home soon!

Get trusted movers who also pack.... label EVERY box on more than one side!

Hope you have success in that Lore, it’s so stressful to live in an unhealthy environment. What kind of moving suggestions would you like? Number one I would get help, I would never move myself ,if I could help it.💜
