Reflexology helped me while I took advantage of it. The therapist was a good distance away, so I finally had to stop. My grandfather was a master reflexologist, but he predominantly worked with the feet. My mother studied it too, and I kept her book on reflexology.
Myofascial massage therapy is also beneficial if you can find a certified therapist. I had this therapy for almost two years and had great results that were cumulative. This therapy works with pressure points like reflexology does. I believe strongly in both therapies and the downside risks are virtually nill. Good luck with whatever therapy choice you make. Healing is always worth striving for. πŸ’œ

Has reflexology helped with fibromyalgia pain management?

The search results don't include specific experiences with reflexology for fibromyalgia pain management. However, many people with fibro explore alternative therapies alongside their regular treatments.

Some approaches that MyFibroTeam members have found helpful include:

- Acupuncture - Members report getting relief from pain, with some seeing improvements in their symptoms when combined with other therapies like yoga and stretching
- Tai chi - This gentle mind-body exercise has helped some people with balance, anxiety, and pain management
- Physical therapy and massage - Soft tissue massage combined with other treatments has provided relief for some members

Since about 9 out of 10 people with fibromyalgia try some form of alternative therapy, you're definitely not alone in exploring options like reflexology. If you decide to try it, it's worth discussing with your healthcare provider first to ensure it fits safely into your overall pain management plan.

Have you tried any other complementary therapies that have worked for you?
