I see people posting here and talk to Fibro sufferers and they all say that you have to cut out carbs and sugar because it exacerbates fibro symptoms. I don't have any effects. Does that mean I don't have fibro?

Is it possible to eat sugar and carbs without affecting your fibromyalgia symptoms?

Absolutely! Fibromyalgia affects everyone differently, and what triggers symptoms in one person may not affect another at all. The fact that you can eat sugar and carbs without noticing any impact on your wellness doesn't mean you don't have fibromyalgia.

While many people with fibro find that certain dietary changes help reduce their symptoms, there's actually no specific diet that works for everyone with fibromyalgia. Some people benefit from eliminating gluten, following an anti-inflammatory diet, or reducing sugar and processed foods, but these aren't requirements for having fibromyalgia.

What matters most is paying attention to your own body and what works for you. Some MyFibroTeam members have found that certain foods trigger their symptoms, while others eat a wide variety of foods without issues. One member shared their experience eliminating gluten, dairy, soy, corn, nuts, nightshades, and refined sugar because they felt better, but that's their personal journey—not a universal rule.

If you're not experiencing any negative effects from sugar and carbs, there's no reason to eliminate them from your diet. Your fibromyalgia experience is valid regardless of your dietary needs.

I eat anything within reason. I'm a diabetic. I also do intermittent fasting which helps me clean out the toxins in my body and allow my body to repai it's self.

Carbs don't seem to have any effect on my symptoms. I guess everyone is different.

I can eat anything. I have to be careful of certain vegetables due to gastropareisis but it has nothing to do with fibro. I try to have a good diet but lately I have been lazy. Its hard cooking for one. I have to get better at it.
