Im too young to qualify for a home health aide. Fortunately I have a couple friends that help out with stuff like that.. dishes, bathroom, sheets, even laundry. I used to feel guilty but they finally convinced me how much they want to help. Amazing friends, I lucked out. I wish I had someone to cook meals because I eat terribly.

I do the best i can but my house isn't as clean as it used to be. Sometimes i will dust 2 rooms and then vaccum the next day. Just depends on how i feel.

Because my fibro is so advanced and I also have cerebellar ataxia, I can hardly do anything. Fortunately I have a very caring and helpful husband who does the cooking, errands and basic housework. Unfortunately our house is messy, but I just have to deal with it.

Managing household chores with fibromyalgia requires accepting that some days will be better than others. The key is breaking tasks into smaller, manageable chunks rather than trying to do everything at once. Focus on what absolutely needs to be done and be proud of even small accomplishments - some days just doing dishes is a victory.
Here are some practical tips for household management:
• Do one small task at a time rather than tackling everything in one go
• Take frequent rest breaks between activities
• Focus on essential tasks on low-energy days
• Consider using adaptive tools that make cleaning easier
• Ask for help from family/friends when possible Remember that pacing isn't about getting nothing done - it's about sustainable energy management. While it may feel frustrating to do less than before, learning to work within your energy limits helps prevent major setbacks. Some MyFibroTeam members share that it took time to adjust their expectations, but pacing ultimately helped them maintain more consistent activity levels rather than cycles of overdoing it followed by crashes.
