I have just started on Duloxetine Cymbalta. Are other people taking this? Does it help, how? What sort of dose do you take? Are there long term side affects. I have only been on this drug eight days and I can’t stay awake, it has taken away my motivation feeling more depressed. Like it says on the package. I hope there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Members shared mixed experiences with Duloxetine for fibromyalgia pain, with many describing an initial adjustment period of several weeks to months that included fatigue, sleepiness, nausea, and low motivation before symptoms improved. Several members found the medication helpful for pain relief once they adjusted, with one member realizing its benefit only after briefly stopping it, though others had to discontinue due to severe side effects like serotonin syndrome, extreme drowsiness, or sensitivity to medications. A recurring theme was patience during the early weeks, monitoring for serious reactions like serotonin syndrome (especially when combined with other medications like Tramadol), and recognizing that while the drug works well for some, it doesn't suit everyone.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, Are still on Duloxetene? Did your symptoms improve? I've been on it for 4 years now 60mg in the morning. I passed through the adjustment period of a couple of months. I got good results. It messed with my sleep. Now it's okay.

I don’t feel sleepy but I have no motivation and keep going to bed. I feel more depressed at the moment. I’m hoping it will be worth it. Thanks for replying.
