Members shared natural approaches to managing fibromyalgia pain when medications aren't effective, with several describing success through magnesium supplements, guided meditation, heating pads, gentle stretching, and deep breathing exercises. Many members emphasized the complexity of stopping medications while on disability, noting the importance of working with pain management clinics, communicating openly with doctors about side effects, and carefully weaning off medications under medical supervision rather than stopping abruptly. A recurring theme was the frustration of balancing the desire to work and live medication-free with the practical realities of managing chronic pain and maintaining disability benefits, with members encouraging exploration of alternative therapies like acupuncture while staying connected to medical support.

I use guided meditations for pain. If i can fall asleep durung the meditation i can usually wake up with little or no pain.

I take 350mg of magnesium daily before bed. It has helped with muscle cramps and relaxing to sleeping better. Heating pad, gentle stretching, massages and deep breathing exercises also help with muscle issues. I've tried a couple prescription medications plus medical marijuana and only had side effects from all. Never helping and causing more issues. I take ibuprofen for pain. Some people are sensitive to medications and they do more harm than good.
