Is Fibro All In Your Head?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I have read a lot that they say you typically get it from a trauma or stress. So does that mean it is all in your head Fibro?
I have an autoimmune and RA but then the dr added to say the other symptoms is Fibro. So I am confused am I physically sick or mentally sick?

No its not in your head and the doctors will make you feel like it is that's why you have to find the right doctors who show empathy and who believes your pain.

No, it is NOT all in your head. That is just what some people (and some docs) say when they don't understand what you go thru. It makes it easier for them to ascribe your pain to being imaginary because they don't know how to deal with someone who hurts a lot of the time and they feel helpless what to say to you or do for you. And some DOCS are simply asses!

Unsure. Because sometimes I can be so excited about something that it seems like the pain is minimal. But once I’m done with that thing it seems worse again. It feels like it could truly be mental but I don’t think it’s a choice like we are making it up

I think it's a little bit of both. It's the central nervous system which is through our your body ( ie your nerves) and it's connected to the brain... So your brain is over active in telling your body your in pain 🤦🏻‍♀️
I hope that helped.... Google it

IT’s physical, I believe I destroyed my nervous system and fibromyalgia started to crawl in once my mental health started coming back so maybe a bit of both 🤷🏼‍♀️ it started with pain for a few hours a day and it got worse and worse…..sigh
