Fibromyalgia – The Path to Diagnosis Read Article...

Short answer: It does not go away. Long answer: Exercise can help tame the feeling of pain and fatigue. Depending on how much exercise you are able to do during a week you can find what works best for you. The natural endorphins that exercise provides can make you feel much better.
I was diagnosed in my 20’s and exercise was recommended by my doctor, a rheumatologist, to help ease the overall pain. The exercise helped. I started with walking around the block once each day, then twice each day and added more distance each week, when it was comfortable for me. I felt I could add more distance over time.
During my 30’s it felt like the fibromyalgia was gone because the exercise I was doing worked. Walking at least three times a week and strength training with small hand weights at home about twice each week worked for me. The walks were up to twenty minutes long and my exercise at home was about twenty minutes long.
When I turned 40 things changed and my schedule made it more challenging to keep up with my exercise routine. (I got married and moved to a new city and I had difficulty trying to find an exercise routine that worked with my new life).
This set me back and then I turned 50 and because of age related set backs I am almost back to starting over with finding what works best to help with daily pain.
But I had about ten years of feeling better with less pain in my 30’s.
During my time of finding what works best for me now, I have found that a good joke or funny story that makes me laugh also helps. Laughter is very helpful and helps to reduce my stress.
Hope this information is helpful to you. 😊

Sorry as for now fibro has no cure but if you can figure out your triggers that helps. Food sensitivity, weather and mostly stress etc. I find keeping stress down anyway I can helps. Make sure you have a healthy gut. Eat the right foods, exercise and a positive mindset all helps. Being gentle to yourself helps to have low discomfort and for some it has gone into remission. I hope you can find what works for you. You are now a fibro warrior and we don’t quite. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
